All products are designed by Jim Lyngvild, after which the industry's most skilled professionals at Plum A/S take over – combining the right ingredients from Nordic nature with inspiration from Flora Danica.
This way, we know the process – and we can guarantee that all products are produced under the absolute best conditions. We can even closely monitor the entire process, as the office, laboratory, and production are located in the same building.
Our daily presence in the laboratory allows us to continuously control and examine the development and quality of each individual product.

Product development takes a long time when everything has to be developed from scratch, and you don't just buy a quick "recipe" for a standard product, like many beauty brands do.
At Raunsborg, it takes about 1 year from when a new product is on the drawing board until it is
ready for launch on the shelf in your store. That may sound like a lot, but there are many things that need to come together before a product is finished.
Did you know, for example:
that our products are always tested by at least 100 test subjects before they can be launched? The test subjects evaluate the product and give it a score. If the product does not score above 4 out of 5 possible points – where 1 is the lowest score and 5 is the highest – then it has "failed" and must return to the laboratory, which adjusts the formula before the product is sent for testing again.
The product is evaluated based on several parameters; effect, consistency, scent, how the product penetrates the skin, feels on the skin, and is compared to a similar product that the test subject already uses.

But nature doesn't do it alone. In collaboration with Plum's lab technicians, Jim and Raunsborg are deeply involved in technology and science. The unique magic arises when skilled lab technicians bring nature into the laboratory and constructively apply knowledge about and properties of carefully selected herbs, plants, and flowers in product development. The result is effective and mild products that do not compromise on quality and deliver on their promises.

Our DNA
Raunsborg was founded in 2011 in Southern Funen, the same location where the company's offices, laboratory, and production facilities are still located today. Behind Raunsborg lies an exciting partnership between Plum A/S, one of the leading companies in the development and production of professional skincare products, and designer Jim Lyngvild. This partnership has resulted in a beautiful beauty series for women and a skincare and fragrance series for men – specifically developed for masculine skin.
In close collaboration with Plum A/S, Jim and Raunsborg have delved into ancient wisdom, finding inspiration in the centuries-old Danish book, Flora Danica, about Nordic nature. Nature itself can create small miracles, and with the help of the centuries-old book on Nordic plants, Flora Danica (Anno 1648), Raunsborg has discovered effective properties from nature's own herbs, plants, and flowers, bringing old ideas back to life. The properties from carefully selected herbs and plants are constructively used and form the foundation of Raunsborg®.
